I have a couple of old school small block purple shaft cams and lifters but lost the cards over the many years. I know I can use dial calipers to get close but wasn't there also a way to identify them with the paint marks on the cams?

I remember I tried to research mine and couldn't get nowhere with it. Ended up having it reground a couple times now..

Best solution I have found to narrow down which purple cam I have is to put the cam in a block and measure the lift. Multiply the lobe lift by 1.5 and see which cam in a Mopar catalogue it is closest to.

Call mancini racing. The color dots on the old purpleshaft are their identifier. I had one in a 440, I called them and they told me the info, by the color dots.
