Purple wire

What the heck is this wire for? It's in my forward engine harness, has a push on connector, but I have no clue what it's for.

If it is purple and in the engine harness along the passenger side valve cover, then it is the temp sensor. The original temp sensors had a screw thread terminal.

But the wire circled above is not in the engine harness, and is from the K terminal; it is from the brake warning switch down on the combination warning switch/proportioning valve in front of the firewall on on the driver's side.
 
I have the temp sensor plugged in..

This one comes out of the forward harness on the drivers side with the front lights...
