putting a ford 5.0 in a 72 Dart

I'm not sure if I'm more impressed by the amount of snow you receive, or the fact that you keep notes about the amount of snow you receive.
Not the amount of snow we received, the amount of time I had to plow

Could be as little as 2 inches (for you Southerns, anything less is not worth firing the plowtruck up for)
Could be as much as 6 inches

SO last season, I went out and plowed 17 times

I can totally understand your wanting something powerful and smooth running that’d be a much better daily driver. If that’s the case why not consider swapping in a gen 3 hemi? There’s support out there for it vs very little, if any for swapping in a coyote engine. Just a thought

The engine is the heart of any car. I understand guys putting whatever engine they find into some brand that is severely limited in choices of factory motors. Example Maybe,,,,,Stude Golden Hawk,,,,,, maybe.
I am not a numbers cruncher, was way back in the 80s 90s 2000s when such meant more. But..... and to each their own!

Well the thing with a 5.0 HO for me is the roller cam however the magnum or roller LA should produce similar results and fit right in Im thinking... a stock 5.0 Mustang GT engine is 225 horse can get that from a 318

Morning everyone
My question today is how hard and how much engineering goes into swapping a 318 with a 5.0 coyote? I want the modern smooth running fuel injection plus a little more HP without a bunch of huge parts that i'd have to add to the 318. what are the major stumbling blocks that I will run into?
Thanks for any help.
Major stumbling block is that you are shaking hands with the Devil, and asking to reverse the laws of nature. Your friends will shun you, and women will be a distant memory of a time when you used to make sense. Are you sure you just don't want a sex change? It would be easier, less costly and the parts would work better.

He's talking about the new Coyote 5.0's, which are significantly more potent than a small block and it's ridiculous what kind of power you can get out of one with mods.

:rofl::rofl:

That's pure gold right there!

I didnt realize it was a coyote my bad I was thinking an 80s 5.0 and like "why would ya do that?" it makes sense now...not that an 80s 5.0 H O was a bad engine or anything...

Hmmm I built a twin turbo coyote 5.0 and stuffed it in a fox body and gave the devil a ride. He **** himself, and asked Jesus to make me lift. If you’ve never been in a car with 1200 hp that idles like a minivan and runs cool cruising down the freeway at 75, then lays black stripes at that speed when you whack the throttle, it’ll be hard to describe how awesome it is.

My brother ordered a brand new 2018 F-150 4x4 with a 5.0 and before the truck was delivered, he ordered the biggest blower that whipple made for them at the time and installed it as soon as he got the truck. That thing was ridiculous!! I've never wanted to own a Ford truck more than I did after I rode in that thing.

Yup. They’re straight killers. Look up midnight performance.

Midnight Performance Houston

All wheel drive turbocharged or Whipple charged trucks or the wave of the new future Cletus McFarland loves em....8 sec quarter mile coyote 4×4 lowered with slicks on all corners

I know there are some scary fast Fords, but it seems like putting one in a Mopar is the equivalent of an asshole sandwich. These two things just don't go together.

I know lots of people feel that way, I just never got the brand loyalty stuff. Hot rodders have been mixing and matching the best of what they can find at junkyards for ages to go fast and I love that about this hobby. I also always advocate for guys doing what they want with their own cars. PS I have a ford falcon with a Honda V6 in it.

I agree. A guy can do what he wants to his car. To each their own.

My take is to keep a classic as true to the brand as much as possible. Just me. OI am old.
If a guy wants to "update" his ride with a modern or newer improved part, resto rod stuff I get it. If I need a oem seat for a Dodge why would I hunt an oem seat out of a Chevy just because easier to find a or a little cheaper?

I get the idea of a 50s or older car that parts are hard to find (not really) more expensive ( cheaper usually).....

I build my old cars as I LIKE. I can not keep them all, so when I change one to suit me and then time comes to sell, I will find IF I made a $ mistake or not!! :BangHead:  :steering:
