A friend in the U.K. is looking for a quadrajet for his '85 Dodge truck with a 360 engine and a Torqueflight. I don't know anything about these, but I offered to have a look in the U.S. for him. Is there anything special about the throttle linkage/lever that is specific to the Torqueflight installations or are they the same as on other installations? If they're different, how common are they and where would I look for one for him? Thanks for any help!

It's not so much the Torqueflite making a difference, but it needs the Mopar-specific linkage arm on it. They were also heavily laden with smog equipment, and I'm not even sure the passcar versions had a port for the vacuum advance since they were being used on emission (Lean Burn) engines- but maybe the truck versions were exempt from that.
Here's a link to an old ad with lots of good pictures of a Mopar Q-Jet.
[SOLD] - Mopar QuadraJet 17085408, Truck 360 Auto Trans 1985 Electric Choke

As I recall the 100/150 Rams truck in 1985/1986 with Quadrajets
were tagged at over 6000 GVW which meant they only had to
meet the much more lenient medium duty cycle. They required
very little tuning or changes on our 360 race Truck that ran 11s in
way back then stock Eliminator.

They were not Lean Burn like to light duty cycle cars.

Yes linkage/calibration and I believe Booster Configuration
are different.

I have a couple of nice ones for $225 plus $10.00 shipping each.

They are very nice stock unmolested carbs that I found when
I raced my '85 NHRA National Recording 360 Ram 100 truck for
spares
Thanks, John. I'll bounce it off him. I can send you my email if he's interested and maybe you can send a few pictures?

Great pictures. That's a pretty busy carburetor! Thank you.

Good to know, thanks. That's a pretty respectable time.

Not only is the throttle linkage chryler specific, but the and pull off arrangement is also similar to that of a ThermoQuad wherein the choke pull off also acts to slow down the secondary air valve to prevent bogging. I’m pretty sure I’ve got a 360 HD truck core if interested. It’s a non EGR with only a distributor advance vacuum port. I probably have an EGR variant, too if that’s what he’s looking for.

I'll find out, Garrett. Thank you.
