Has anyone done this? Did you have to have your head ground?
How much did it cost just to install dual springs?
This is for the Lunati 73949 springs. Id like to find a single spring otherwise, if someone could guide me to one that's known to work??

Thanks!

Search for the topic... we just had this discussion. There are single springs that would work for the smaller Lunati grinds. Dual springs require the heads to have the spring seats and guides cut.

I ran into the same situation with a Mopar .474 cam in a 360. The Comp cam version of the cam (with is the same lift and close duration) required dual springs by their specs. I talked to my head guy and used 942-16 Comp cam single springs by his recommendation.

Moper, I did read that thread, BUT nothing was for sure, just guesses of what might work. I thought maybe someone outside that thread may have had a for sure method without valve float. It's not a question of what might work, but what will work.

O.k. Moper... Reading the thread again you suggest the 901-16 springs, and .020 shim. This part here? Comp Cams #249-5100S-20
Stock retainers and clips, and umbrella seals. While reading the specs I see how you came to this conclusion.
Has anyone tried this method... I might just try. It's a whole lot cheaper too. I just hate to take off these heads again if they don't work right, and have to get them ground anyway. hmm?

Thanks.
