Question about quarter panel extensions on a 73 Dart (I've got pictures)

Did the factory use a sealant or a seam sealer when attaching these to the ends of the quarter panel?

no. use some kind of puckey on the nuts that go into the trunk though. This will keep water out of the trunk.

If I'm not mistaken they had a foam gasket.
On the putty part, I had a small leak in my trunk and sealing all the stainless trim studs that are in the trunk took care of that.

My dad calls it puckey but yeah, it's a putty like consistency. Rope caulk but I found it in black somewhere
