I just got a 67 Barracuda Monday and the trim around the windshield and the rear glass is looking bad. The trim is not metal at all but plastic. I would like to get new metal trim to go around the areas but I don't see were the clips will go. The plastic stuff just pushes into the rubber that goes around the glass. It does not look bad except that it has shrunk or something. Would I be better off just getting new plastic trim but cut it right to fit? Thanks!! Pics:

The metal clips get screwed into the window opening. This is a common upgrade for the `67's with the plastic moldings. The only downside is that the windsheild & rubber gasket must be removed to install the clips. While I have never done this swap, I suggest you find someone whom has done this before attempting this modification.

Thanks

It sounds like for right now I should just get some new plastic trim and pop it in. However I have a good friend that works at an auto glass shop and they fool around with old cars as well as new. Would you know maybe where I can get some new plastic trim?

I got some plastic trim from a guy on e-bay, but it ended up being the wrong stuff for my car. My gasket didn't have the groove to accept it. It also didn't have the clips installed for the correct trim. I ended up getting a piece of trim from a '71 Valiant Scamp and attaching it with silicone sealer. The guy on e-bay took back the plastic stuff, but was obnoxious, condescending, and a total butt-wad about it! Other than that, he was a nice guy!

My friend that works at a auto glass shop is going to help me fix it. He seems to know what to do without removing the glass to install the clips. I have found the metal type for the front for $150 less the clips but have not found the back as of yet. But I am going to see what my friend has in mind and then go from there.
