Question on removing foam trim from roof rails

I am in the midst of repainting my 72 Dart. Roof rails have been removed and I need to remove the old foam rubber gasket between rail and roof. I was told I could use spray "Oven Cleaner" and it would remove the foam and adhesive fast without harming the stainless steel trim. Has anyone used this and does it work without ruining the trim? Thanks for any advice & help!

Oven cleaner should be okay on stainless. Just keep it away from annodized aluminum. Most any solvent should dissolve the adhesive.

Getting it off the stainless is easy, just use paint stripper.
