Another thing you can do is to "serious think" about a hood lock system. Yet another if you have a trunk mount battery, is mount the switch inside the trunk, and if you drag race, device a push rod inside a sleeve. This would allow you to push the switch off but not pull the knob back out and turn it back on. You would have to open the trunk to reset
You could also trip the switch off with a cable. Pull cable like a bicycle brake cable. You can buy that in bulk, you could route it under the carpet, alongside the hump
I'm thinking on mine for a more redneck approach. The 67.....if I live long enough....will have Bullitt wheels. Just a simple plastic covered heavy chain and a simple "hook stick." Push it through a rear wheel, over and around the leaf spring, back out and a padlock.
