I am new to this Mopar thing. I have parted a few out but haven't really worked on one yet. I have a 1973 Duster I bought w a 360, X heads, Purple stick cam 474 lift , 238 dur @ .050 and MSD igintion. The car won't start up so I need to start from the beginning to make sure the didtributor is in right/ timing is is right.

Just want to double check on the timing order.

Is this it? 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2

odd side cyls. on driver side

even side cyls. on pass side

Can somebody verify this.

Car sounds like it wants to fire up but the plugs are fouled and the carb was not set up right. Got the carb situated now I am going to change the plugs.

You are correct on the firing order and the cylinder layout. It is the same as a Big or Small Block Chevy...

Your stated firing order is correct for all mopar V8's.

Make sure it's got plenty of initial timing. At least 16 would be my suggestion.

I also need to change the spark plugs can anybody tell me what the spark plug gap is supposed to be?
