Probably my favorite track of the ones I’ve raced at.
I like the lay out.

I’m glad it seems to be working out for the new owners.

I haven’t been there for years but we used to have our bracket finals there. Back before my motorhome years we got 5-7 inches of rain from a hurricane and the next day we were under a no move day. Not even bicycles were allowed for 24 plus hours. The next day we got the whole race in and had a great time. That was my worst tow back then on the old Pa turnpike. 286 miles each way on a two lane road at 55 mph.

The unpaved areas of the pits can be pretty unfriendly if they get much rain.
I remember being at the Dutch Classic one year it had rained......and there were quite a few motorhomes that got stuck in the mud.

This of course was old management back then but man that was a smart call doing the no move rule. My race seat had three inches of rain in it. Not many if any enclosed trailers back then.

Great place. We used to go to Columbus or Reading every year, sometimes both. There was a campground across the street with a pool and a bar. They allowed you to bring one beer in and they gave you 2 cartons of cigarettes at the gate, Winston was a sponsor. The non drinkers carried beer in for the drinkers and the non smokers got cigarettes for the smokers.

I drank with some of the Pro Stock racers at that bar. It’s now closed but future plans for the new track owner is to reopen it asap.

We were there for the bracket finals several times back in the 80's. We were from Dragway Park, and won the team championship one year.

I'm glad to see Kenny Koretsky bought that & not some developer to bulldoze & build MORE houses. I'm also lucky it's only an hour trip down the Turnpike from me AND a couple of His (Kenny's) businesses are right around the corner from me!

Our keystone video guy was originally from the Maple Grove area and that was his home track. He spent the weekend there and posted this on Facebook tonight.

Still recovering from the weekend, but here's a quick post...

First, THANK YOU to the Koretsky family for taking over the Grove and all the improvements! Can't wait to see where they take it next!!! The sellout crowd showed drag racing is alive and well in PA.!!
Edited to add...also to the track staff! Friendly, helpful, and no issues getting in or out even with the sellout! Also big thanks to their media person Sarah! I understand what your job entails and while the plan didn't work out, I was still able to get the police patch to Kyle and talk. As someone who does the same thing, you do an amazing job...keep up the great work!!!

Next, thanks to all the friends I hung out with and talked to!! It made my day even more special!! Hopefully next year we can do it again!!!

Now...there aren't pictures and/or video other than what I posted. I did take my video camera, and had a bigger microSD card in my phone, but I decided after walking around a bit to just enjoy the day as it was and not thru a tiny viewfinder or screen. It was my first time at the Keystone's (I'll call it that as long as I live!) since 1994, so I just wanted to enjoy it as a fan and not as "work." Yes, I wore my work shirt, but it's comfortable for me, it doesn't show sweat stains, and wearing it was the only real "work" I did when someone would ask about the track and I could promote it. And I have to say, I enjoyed the racing and pit walks so much more without worrying about a shot or anything.

Anyway...thanks again to all the friends I got see, the new ones I made, and to the ones i missed, I'm sorry. It is a big place that was filled to the brim!!

Hopefully my 2023 schedule will allow more chances to get back home! I truly love my Keystone Family, but the Grove is where I grew up and my love of drag racing started. It will always be a special place with so many great memories!!

I was watching my DVR recording of the NHRA race from Quaker City last night and as usual I was fast forwarding through the first two rounds of Pro Stock (used to be my favorite class) and Pro Stock Motorcycle and I had to quickly stop. My buddy that I’ve raced with for most of my 47 years has a Ford Probe that he sometimes races in the Nostalgia Pro Stock class at National events. His son also a Keystone racer races a copy of Bob Gliddons car. I rewound it and

took a few pictures and posted them on Facebook for them. They were pleasantly surprised when they got home from the races last night.
