Radiator cap

A quick question this morning. I bought a new radiator cap for my '72 Duster. If I get an overflow jar hooked up at some point, will this cap work? Thanks,

Only If it is a cap designed for a coolant recovery system. Mine is one of those with the pressure release lever on top. Just ask for 73 or later model at the parts counter and you'll get what you need.
Any cap would spit in the jar but not all will let the water come back again.
