i was thinking after i said that 9 project cars ....wish i would have stuck to one model i spend more time shopping for parts then working on them7?? and my own junk yard of parts to help finish these projects. Did not share the A53 H-Code convertible. Body complete, all mechanicals rebuilt B7 / B5 / white top. Will come together. Need two more years to finish all the rest of these. Final project will be the other A57 4 speed coupe.
If anyone wants to help......I think I have bit off more than I can chew
El Dartarino! it's not a car it's a truck!

There are several members here who have 1969 M code cars and 1968 Hemi cars. I'd imagine those are among the most rare
So, let's explore this. The Hemi cars in 1968 were BO serial numbers and I believe they made 50 of them. These cars were owned by professional teams, raced, wrecked, traded, fixed, retired, sold to collectors alot of times without motors. Sold from the factory without motors as shells so they could be built by professional race teams. There are several members here who have 1969 M code cars and 1968 Hemi cars. Dave, from a 440 numbers perspective, how many Cuda' 440 FBs were built? Believe 166 Cuda' Fastback Automatics 340's were built. From numbers on line there were some three hundred forty 440 Cuda's built. 166 Cuda' Fastback automatics is reasonable low production number. 31,987 total cars built for year that is .005% of production? Would be fun to see how many of these cars are known to exist. This is the only 68 Barracuda 340 4 speed formula -S Coupe Export car
But one of one does not mean its worth a ton of money

There is a 70 340 duster that originally came out of Quebec Canada that was Panther Pink or Moulin Rouge (can't remember which is correct) with a black painted roof. I can't recall if it was auto or stick, bench or buckets or much else but apparently it was one of one. It has changed hands a few times with the collector population. It was a nut and bolt resto IIRC. Also featured in Mopar Collector Guide. So, let's explore this. The Hemi cars in 1968 were BO serial numbers and I believe they made 50 of them. The M-Code, think there were some 300 built? No convertibles, all automatics for engineering reasons.
So, from a pure numbers perspective
300 M Codes
50 BO serial numbered factory race cars
23 H-Code (A57) 4 Speed Cuda' Coupes built
- two found in the same collection
17 H-Code (A53) Formula S Convertibles built
- 10 Automatics / 7 fours speeds
- The one in this collection has a build sheet and was a Canadian Order
- Also for some reason a radio delete - (Canadian's don't like music?)
1 FB Cuda (A56) not as rare but build sheet documents:
- red fender well liners, AM/FM radio, A/C, Power Steering & Brakes, Deluxe Interior, Rally Gauges, Tach, Locking Gas Cap, color matched steel wheels)
- How many A-Body cars have a documented power steering cooler option?
340 Notchback (A4 Paint) how many built without an A53 or A56 code? probably not rare, unusual at best , only example I have ever seen.
So quantifiable numbers to defining rare is pretty straight forward. Subjective comment on more desirable is based on preference or opinion. The numbers are what they are. 50 built Hemis - rare, 23 1969 Cuda Coupe 4 Speeds - don't expect to find two, 17 built 1969 H-Code Convertibles - Rarer, export 1 of 2 Dusters - 2 needles in a haystack, prototype 340 car - unicorn.
Love the Dusters, I need to find a unique one. Preferably done and drivable. Great thread of cars / introspection.
Love those Dusters!

Nice Mustang!Apparently, I may have the rarest A body of them all.
Yesterday, at a local car show, a younger "man" and his 5 or 6 year old boy were approaching the front of my car and the little boy told his dad that he really liked my car a lot.
The dad says to his boy, "It's a Mustang"... Even though I had this sign standing at the front of my car. Yep, I have the ultra, ULTRA-rare Plymouth Mustang!
Sorry, but I could think of a better place to post this.

There is apparently one here in western Canada that I have heard of, but never seen.I didn't know this thread existed until just now, so I'd like to nominate Bazza's '71 VG. Here's a picture of the show card he made up years ago:
View attachment 1716424224
What he doesn't mention here is that his uncle was some sort of Big Shot with Chrysler in Australia, and thus he was able to Special Order this car "to taste", as there are several "SO" notes stamped into the body. Also, one of the options shown on the firewall tag (no fender tags in OZ or NZ) doesn't officially exist ("A70A").

The "Mexicana" in the name means there were Charger C-pillars installed at the factory:
View attachment 1716424226
Also, while his show card mentions "200 Mexicanas were built", further research has shown this to be incorrect. There were 200 ordered, but only 68 (or 86) were actually built (I forget the actual number).
As for rarity, in Oz or NZ this car would be a stand-out, as knowledgeable people know what it is. But here in the States, even though we're 99% certain it's the only Mexicana here, it barely gets a "Meh!" at car shows. People either see the "Regal" badging and think it's a Buick, or the "Mexicana" and think it's from Mexico. (They drive on the left side of the road in Mexico?)
Anyway, Bazza was recently cleared to drive again (something I forgot to post), and he's had it a couple shows in the Duluth/Superior area this year already, Gordy's Hi-Hat in Cloquet, for one. (@FISHYPETE and @norshorblufish may be familiar with the place).
Since there's only one of these here in the States, unless you've seen this one in-person, I'm pretty sure you've never seen another like it.

Another VG Mexicana somewhere here in North America? I’d love to track that down! Do you recall where you learned or heard of this? There is apparently one here in western Canada that I have heard of, but never seen.

Yea, that guy has been on the site here. That car was down here in South Florida for sale for a while. I looked at it at a Consignment Dealer a couple years ago.
That looks like it
