Is it a true statement that a big bolt pattern rear wheel set up is NOT a 7 inch rear??

Yes, but there were 7 1/4" rear ends with the big bolt pattern.

yes they did make 7 1/4 rears BBP. Many later A-bodies had them.

Yes. My '75 Scamp (318 w disc brakes) had a 7 1/4 large bolt pattern w. 10" drums.

Yup, you can find sbp 4" up to 72 and bbp 4.5" from 73 up in the 7.25" rear ends.

Had a 80 Mirada with a 7 1/4, till I put a 69 B -body 8 3/4 in it.

The Demon has a 7¼ SG from a 75 disk brake Valiant which was BBP. I have a 73 Dart with SBP and drum brakes. I don't know at what point Mopar completely abandoned the SBP wheel, but it was sometime after '73, cause the Dart was built late in the model run.
