As long as I've got my dash apart I'm replacing my wiper pivot seals. The jute on the underside of the dash is hanging loose in some spots and is hanging on the wiper linkage in a few areas. It's still in very good condition.

What would some of you recommend as an adhesive to reattach the loose spots to the underside of the dash without removing everything?

I'd rather not use a spray adhesive and get sticky overspray on everything under there. Not sure if contact cement would work. Thinking of something thick that can be brushed on or shot on with a caulking gun. Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you use a quality spray adhesive (3M automotive) and hold the can close enough you shouldn't have an issue with overspray. The stuff I've used comes out in a reasonably controlled stream.

Contact cement or spray adhesive both jute material AND any areas it will be attached to... let both dry to tacky and then stick the jute in place. Worked for me....

X's 2 I use Locktite brand and it comes out of the nozzle in a pretty controlled fashion.

Bought a can of my ol' friend 3M Super 77. Used to use it by the case at work. So far it's stuck. My finger tips up to the first knuckle looked like Chewbacca after pressing it all up and holding it with the little bit of spray that got on the edges.
