Curious if you guys have a trick to removing super old crusty window tint. I was going to try a heat gun and razor blade but figured I'd ask first. It's like this...

I used heat, razors and VERRRRRRRYYYY CAREFULLY, - acetone

I wonder if you could use one of them 3m soft thingies they use to buff decals off of paint with? One of them rubber eraser things that fits in the end of a drill.

I had an '86 nissan pickup that looked like it had tint as old as the truck. I struggled for little to get the tint off and in the end I just took it to a tint shop and had them replace it with new stuff. They said no problem and didn't charge extra since I was getting new tint anyway. I don't know what they used to get the old stuff off but if you're getting new tint anyway it might be easier to have them do it.

I was thinking that too. Probably just go that route lol. Seems like it would be a nightmare.

You’re better off having a shop do it, you don’t wanna scratch your windows with a razor blade.
Nice looking car, I wouldn’t mind seeing the rest of it.

Thought ammonia sprayed on put in the hot sun on the inside. Been a while but thought they sprayed on ammonia then covered it with a plastic bag so it did not evaporate. Then scrape off with a plastic scraper when soft, or just pull it off.

Have to see if you can find out more on this. May be some adhesive left behind to clean off too.

That's a pretty good idea!

Designed to not hurt paint so glass should be a piece of cake to do.

Have to remember that tip RRR!
