Hi folks,

I'll soon be picking up a driver's side remote mirror ('75 Dart), along with some other goodies, but the mirror glass is cracked, mostly missing. Is there a source of replacement glass, or is it a matter of finding a glass company and having one cut? It appears that the glass is just sort of glued in at the edges - correct? Pic of the casing:

This might help. note the scratches on the aluminum disk where the mirror sits. 3 dollops of adhesive.

As for replacement glass shop is your only source as far as I know, should be fairly easy for them. Getting the visable edge to look stock might take some doing?

That DOES help. As for the factory edge, I'm not sure yet, but we'll see what we can do.

I bought some mirror glass from resto Rick in Canada a few years ago.

When I worked at a glass shop, we sold "Redi-cuts". Regular mirror glass was illegal. It has too high of reflective properties.

A google search should turn up several sources for replacement glass, but you may need to look at several to find the ones that offer glass for classic cars.

However, some also offer "Objects in mirror are closer...." convex glass for the passenger side.
