Does anyone know which heater valve is the replacement for a 69 a body? Four Seasons makes a 1021 and a 1022. They work opposite of each other, one flows with vacuum on and one flows with vacuum off.
I don’t remember which one to use. The one I put on my car years ago isn’t marked.

I honestly don't remember, either- but rather than take a guess, I'd pull the hose and hook it to a vacuum gauge and start it up. If it has vacuum with the heater turned off, it's normally open. If it has vacuum with the heater on, it's normally closed.

Yeah, I was going to do that, but mine is up on a lift and not running at the moment.

'69 AC cars have a heater hose that has 2 vacuum lines. The original water valves dont default to any position they use one vacuum hose to open and one vacuum hose to close it. So either one of the single vacuum hose valves should work if hooked to the right vacuum hose

Definitely not true on 1969 A bodies. Two vacuum lines through firewall. One for vacuum from engine, one for heater valve.

On the '68 - '72 factory AC cars 3 vacuum lines through firewall. One for manifold vacuum, two for water valve. Download the free 1969 Factory Service Manual at mymopar.com and there are vacuum diagrams in there. Original '69 water valves have two vacuum hook ups no spring they get sucked open and then sucked closed.

My 72 with AC (late model year build) only had the two vacuum lines coming through the firewall. One going to the water valve, the other to the manifold vacuum.
