Replacing metal fender splash shields with plastic shields

I have a 69 Barracuda which came with the metal fender splash shields for the door jam. I've heard of people replacing them with the 73 up plastic shields.
Has anyone done this swap ? Any modifications required ?

i have a right side for sale for 20.00. if your interested i can bring it to carlisle.
 
I don't have a good answer. I do have plastic shields here and I've compared them side by side to the 67 B'cuda metal shields. I don't see a difference or why they wouldn't work. Then another thread showed plastic shields different from what I have. Their shape for attaching screw locations were different. So... Appears the plastic shields aren't all the same through 1976. I don't know what donor car my shields came from. Take your metal shield with you to a swap meet?
 
I cant verify the swap from metal to plastic, but Dart is different shape than Duster/Scamp in plastics.
