Ok so just got the 1966 Dodge Dart 270 slant 6 with the TorqueFlight904, back from the shop. New gasket and filter service, able to stop the horrible leak I had.

Also had him check out the Speedomter cable which I thought was bad. Turns out the cable is working fine, and I can see it spinning.

However when I attach it to the dash, there is no activity. No speed, and the odometer doesnt move.
Actually I cant even see the Speed needle, like it is gone? Is it possible to replace the speedometer on the dash section?

Shop says I need to see a specialist who can deal with the Cluster/Dash. There are other issues as well with the entire dash (i.e. nothing works).

Many issues in the clusters you can repair, but probably "not so much" the speedo. Unfortunately, I've no idea where to take them anymore. In a previous life, I sold auto parts. Even little Spokane (Spokamentro) used to have a speedo / instrument shop.

I don't know 'bout 66, some of the older cars as well as the newer clusters with Ralley cluster (oil pressure) had the instrument regulator built INSIDE the fuel gauge. This is easily ID'd by having 3 studs on the rear of the gauge.

Other issues with printed circuit are broken connector pins and other corrosion issues, and ADD a ground pigtail to the cluster

I need to get instrument repairs done also, so I have been reading several threads on the subject. Search this site. Several people have made specific recommendations.

I have sent my 64 Valiant Speedometer gauge in to Redline Gauge Works in California.

uh oh. Trans pan is leaking again? I got under there and i can see/feel the new gasket where the pan curves, and looks like gasket it soaked and wicking right out onto the rails? I felt above the pan on the ledge surrounding to make sure leak is coming from above, like the rear seal, but no pink.

From the research it appears either the pan rails were warped? (though when the shop took it off, I would assume they would notice). So I will take it back, but I probably need to point him to the plastic/rubber gasket type that seems to fit. Chrysler part 4295875AC. Has anyone here fixed the leak by using this gasket?

As for Speedo, I do notice that the odometer looks sorta crooked and not centered (as I look at it from the steering wheel. I suppose when I pull the dash off, everything should become obvious. cross finger.

Me and my son were able to change the oil at least. 1 success so far.
