Just got a 71 Demon and the car was a automatic now its a 4 speed. Previous owner has no wiring or plug on the reverse light but I want it toward. There are wires going to the rear reverse lights but nothing forward to the transmission. Whats my best way to get this going

Is the neutral safety switch plug / wiring still hanging around somewhere from the automatic?? The outer two wires are your reverse light circuit. Clip, 1/4" spades and put them onto the A833's switch.

No there's nothing there at all someone must of pulled it all out. Where do you get power from the fuse block on the fire all anyone have a picture of where the power comes from

It's in the service manual.
Go to mymopar.com and download a digital copy.
The wire code for back-up lights is B.
The tricky part of the diagram will be identifying the option for 3 speed and 4 speed vs automatic.

edit.
I thought this seemed familiar. There's a mistake in my text but the drawing is taken from the service manual diagram. Power to the switch is from wire B1 coming out of cavity W. Look to see if the passenger side of the connector is wired.

There's a harness available for that. Plus if you want the under dash reverse lamp. It's all in the factory service manual wiring diagram.

I just got this reverse light harness from classic but why so many connectors I know one goes to the bulkhead and the one on the reverse switch but how about the others ??

Not sure if you have the correct harness, having said that, I realize that my '69 has the '71 harness. Mine is wired different than yours. It was confusing, I have no violet wire, black. Your car should be like Mattax's wiring diagram. Power is out of the W port? Mine is above the C port, D. The Z port goes into the reverse light under the dash. Recheck your harness is correct and follow Mattax's diagram. Do you have a '71 Factory Service Manual? What kind of shape are your car wiring harnesses in? Are they all hacked up or the car rewired with a do it yourself universal wiring harness?

Well, this is me, others will argue, but you have about 3 choices. One, replace all of your wiring with new M&H or Evans. Two, get one of those Painless do it yourself kits, which isn't really up everyone's alley. Two of my cars were hacked, I replaced all of it with M&H. Expensive now days, but absolutely no regrets for doing it, your orginal hacked wiring is 54 years old. Three, try to sort out what you have and repair it. If you decide to go new, pm me.
