RIP Jerry West

Lifelong Laker fan here. Huge loss for the Laker faithful.
"Mr. Clutch" is the nickname he was given. They also call him
"The Logo", because of the NBA logo is supposed to be him.
Jerry played alongside greats like Wilt Chamberlin, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich, Happy Hairston to name a few.
Led the Lakers to 9 final appearances, finally winning it in 1972. After playing in the NBA, Jerry was the general manager for the Lakers, and assembled the "Showtime Lakers".
Incredible basketball player, Incredible human being.
Laker Legend. He will be missed. RIP Jerry West #44

Also a lifelong Laker fan. I've been a huge fan of Jerry West ("Zeke from Cabin Creek") for years and wish he'd never left the Laker organization.
Truly a class individual without unparallelled player knowledge.
Back in 1971-72 he played with Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor during the Lakers' 33-game winning streak.
He will be missed.

Jerry West was one of the first new players of the LA Lakers when the moved from Minneapolis.
The Lakers name came from the Minnesota Lakers, "the land of ten thousand lakes " is Minnesota's motto.
Way before Chamberlain, Goodrich etc.. and they played beside him.
West came to LA when they moved from Minnestota in 1960.
The genuine Laker player.
