Rocker arms

-
aluminum bodies directly on non chrome shafts tend to gall/ smearing
I do not remember using al directly on heat treated shafts
in either case oiling I would think banana groves
spring pressure related?
I just used bronze bushings
and rocker arm specialists in Nor cal do a great job
Crane gold and mopar blues, same.lol
What ,they were al on standard adj shafts, weren't they? That's what I remember.
Induction hardened shafts are what you want for a needle bearing harland or Chinese knock off, holes are also relocated for such rockers, super thick wall shafts. I use them.

Crane and mopar aluminum rocker ride on the shaft with no bushing...seems to work....i got about 5 sets in use...

A better bang for the buck? I don’t think so price wise. That’s a smokin deal really. Eye balling a set myself.

I've been eyeballin some parts, too.

I run Mopar blues on a stock shaft. No issues 'cept a nasty looking bearing surface of the rocker but they are still smooth and dont rock. Is that your 'smearing'? I thought they were rough finished when I got them and was ready to bush them but I slid them on and they fit correctly.

works ok with moderate spring prssure
I do not run al on stock shafts or even induction hardened with a big roller spring pressure

The main bearings are either Babbitt or aluminun If aluminum Main bearings are ok the aluminun Rockers should be ok, just make sure they have the correct clearance and plenty of oil.

I do know that there are plenty of problems with needle bearings.
