I'm just at the beginning stage of exploring my low oil pressure problem in my 71 dart swinger 225 /6. I've gotten some good advice from you guys about checking to see if the rocker shaft is in properly before I do much else.
In my dart manual is says to have the "flat" of the rocker shaft on top and at the front of the engine. I don't see anything "flat" about the rocker shaft on either end so what am I missing?
Update...okay, I found out not all rocker shafts have the "flat". I've now removed the rocker shaft and have confirmed it was in correctly. I then proceeded to crank the engine over several times for several seconds and there is NO oil coming up out of the back bolt hole - crap!
If it's not the rocker shaft, it might be the cam bearings are in wrong - that seems to be what most people are saying, but what about the oil pump maybe not working right - could that be causing this?
Starting to think I might have to find someone locally to give me a hand on this - anyone in Bellingham, WA??
Thanks!
