It's not an A-body, but here is my 71 Barracuda I bought a couple of months back and finally had room to bring it home after selling my 69 383-s Fastback.

I have a fair share of work ahead of me. Trunk floors, sail panel, and quarter panel patches for sure.

Car is a 318 AC, auto, gold with white top. The car came with a disc brake set, front sway bar, rally gauges, grill, fenders with gills put in, bulge hood, rear sway bar, 8.75 rear, and a stick steering column.

Will be doing a moderate resto mod build. 4 wheel discs, 4 speed, 360 magnum, tubular upper control arms, and I am going to put in a rack and pinion steering set up. Eventually will put in a five speed.

The fun starts! This is not going to be a restoration. Anybody have experience putting a trunk floor in? I don't know if a one piece trunk goes in with quarters installed. It appears a two piece would be easier to work with, just have extra welding to do.

Looks like a fun project Rod. Best of luck with it. If you find yourself needing a hand, i aint that far away.

thanks Ben, this has been a dream of mine for a long time. I have already started cleaning it up a bit. Will be borrowing my neighbors power washer next weekend to give it a good scrub down before I get under it.

Thanks,
I have wanted one for a long time. Finally found one that was in my budget and was mostly complete, less engine and transmission.

Will be gutting the interior tonight!

Nice find Rob. Did that fresh 383 you did go with the 69 ?? I also have an E body besides my GTS. Got a 70 Cuda 383 4spd from a local guy, I've been trying to buy for a while. I'ts in my enclosed trailer now waiting for the GTS to get powered up. Then onto the rotisserie it goes. Did you get over to FEBO ? I thought I saw you over there.

Well, I got the interior removed to check out the real condition of my floor boards. Really not too bad. I have some patches in the pass rear. The front driver, I will have to think about. This is a driver, so if it cleans up and is solid enough, I won't replace it.

I chose to put the 2 piece trunk floor in our '68 Charger. I was certain that I couldn't fit a 1 piece floor through the trunk opening. Later on I ended up putting new quarters on it so I wish I'd stripped those quarters before ordering the floor. I hope you do strip your car first. If you do need to add quarters now is the time to find out.

We mini-tubbed it at the same time. My son decided he wanted the seams all welded solid to reduce flex also.

I will have to do some stripping as there are issues with the lower parts of the rear 1/4's. I plan on doing this soon so I can plan my attack on the car. Overall, it is pretty solid. Enough work to be fun, but not so much it is overwhelming.

Might think about mini-tubbing and relocating the springs....

Yes, the 383 went with the 69 as that was the original matching numbers engine. I have been over at FEBO, although I am not super impressed with the site as I am with this one.

Yup, Not too much action over there. Good group though.

So my fender tag says my 71 is a two tone car. I wonder how many E-bodies were two tone? This one is gold and white.

My Cuda in high school was gold and tawny brown.

A few more pics of my rust repair and chassis stiffening install. The inner fender piece was a 20 dollar find at my local junk yard.

I am picking up speed on my welding skills. Still have a ways to go before I say I am worth a nickel.

Cool project and great progress so far. I just picked up a 72 Cuda so I'll be watching this thread. Keep up the good work!

I've had this 74 stripped down and floor pans cut out for a while. Trying to decide if I'm going with a T-bird rack or not....

I like how it fits, ready to weld my US Car Tools inner fender brace in. Will be fixing the small hole as well. Got excited and tore the metal where a spot weld was for the factor brace.

Those look nice. I put gussets on the shock towers already but those look stout. Very expensive?

I bought a whole kit from them. Includes core support brace, inner fender bracing, shock tower bracing, 4 torque boxes, and subframe connectors. 600 bucks for everything. Nice pieces, should really strengthen the chassis.

Removed my rear quarters today. Holy cow, that is alot of work!!!
