Ross' Dodge Demon Clone build thread

Well I am at it again :headbang:

This is a '74 Plymouth Duster (yes it came with a '76 grill in it) that I am building into a '72 Dodge Demon clone to sell to help fund my other projects. I am thinking the end result will be a '72 Demon in hemi orange with all the stripes and dual hood scoops that is a rolling shell (on sbp throw away drums and rear end) with all the glass installed, dash frame, headliner, and possible a v8 K member.

I think when all is said and done I will be asking about 8k.

Any input is appreciated and welcomed.

The front floors are going to be replaced and the drivers side 1/4 will be replaced as well. Other then that it is a solid car that is going to be saved and turned into one of the most bad *** A bodys there ever was!

well right now I am waiting on parts I bought to show up..... kinda hard to commit to something if you don't have the parts......

I ended up finding a clean body 74 duster, scrapped this one, got the tail panel, found a 71 grill and 71 marker light cut outs, still need pre 73 doors. I have a decently built 383/727 that's in our 68 charger that will go into the demon when it's ready. Located a fmj 8 1/4 so the rear tires will have the better stance, got the sought after 72 bench bucket seat. No question about it the car will be a few different years when done but it will mostly be 71 with a few 72 things on it. Also being a 74 car it has lbp disks. Just collecting parts right now until I can locate a proper set of doors then ill tear into it.

I am curious if you have done this before and made money at it? I am not looking for another car that for sure. If I were, not sure I would buy one that had been converted like your plan is. Is there really a market for this just curious? :-?

There is a market for these cars. A lot of people who can't do the work themselves like a car that looks good and they can get in and drive. It doesn't hurt too that my investment is very minimum.
