Rotate U-Bolt Exhaust Clamp

Does anyone see an issue with rotating a u-bolt exhaust clamp so the bolts clear speed bumps? I fear the pipes might leak if I mess with how they are squeezed together.

No issues. We used to do that all the time. It looks a lot nicer if you don't see the ends of the clamp hanging down under the car. If for some reason you do get a small leak, they make muffler paste for this reason but I doubt you'll need it.

You could do one better and use a band clamp, rotating it up and out of the way. That would buy you and extra 1/4". Haha!

I used to at least install with the bolts horizontal, thinking "that curb" might pay off some day

After rotation, I only gained 1/2 inch, but hitting one curved surface is better than the two hanging bolts.
