Rubbing compound/polish on RustOleum?

Using the Rustoleum spray cans (2X1 on the label) to paint the steering column, dash, glove box, etc. I wonder if rubbing compound or polish can be used on this type of paint after it dries to make it a little smoother/better looking than the almost smooth finish it provides untouched? Thank you.

I sanded mine with superfine sandpaper then hit it with another coat.
