I ran local ads for free Mopar parts for months. People just wanted to buy a part. Nobody wanted everything for free. I still will have a ton of parts but its time to enjoy my space. When someone ask for a part it does not take me a week dig it out.

I don't have a ton of parts but when i do i put them up for a month or 2.. i hate just trashing stuff that someone might need... this morning i trashed a 360 truck oil pan, power steering pump/brackets and exhaust manifolds.. not great parts but gone now...

I have had my PST 20:1 box up for sale for 4 months now... and... something else i can't even remember since it's been up soo long

Past five years I’ve been selling a lot of stuff to the core guys 4 speeds, automatics, steering boxes, power steering bumps, door hinges etc.
Looking for alternator person and starter person to dump off another 200 or so

Glad it's not just me. Gets frustrating lately I've just been stripping cars right into old derby cars and scrapping it all and not even bothering listing anything isn't worth the time anymore. Much less wasted time hauling it all in for scrap. A and c body parts all getting cleaned out lately from my shop and my dads shop where I store over flow.

what i hate is that there is only soo much of this stuff left.. but can't hold onto it forever...

I hate it to but I have spent so much of my life money space and room stripping cars for parts for my own cars and to sell to fund my hobbies that I just am out of patience playing phone tag and nothing selling

And then there’s people like me on the other side of the pond, paying an arm and a leg for repop parts from China with shipping and taxes that make your eyes bleed. Maybe I need to rent a shipping container and place a want ad. “Wanted Mopar clear out parts, will collect”.

Guy calls and asks about a part.
You spend an hour looking for it, find it, send pic and price. He responds either too much... or I will come buy one day..end of story.
I advertised for a year, on FB Marketplace and FBBO, a 64 big block radiator, correct #, out of running car. Clean!! $75/offer. One caller and he never showed! I hate selling parts and I hate throwing away anything!

THE absolute hardest thing to sell is a large LOT of misc. parts! I sold off all I could of a barn full and finally gave a good bud a lathe U Haul truck FULL! He had put me onto a huge number of GOOD cars over the years. He got home from work and he about fainted! He could not even get his garage door open! Not sure if he was happy or just pissed. Well pissed..he was an E body hemi guy! None of that in that pile.

Well on the other side of the coin, people are selling (or trying to sell) things on **bay for a zillion dollars. The same 1972 hubcaps that I'm about to throw out because no one is buying them, people have listed for $100 on **bay... It just doesn't add up..

Half my project car is going in the dump this weekend because no one wants them. I hate to throw away parts that someone might want, but the wife (and especially the town code enforcement officer) doesn't like them laying around.

Yup I am doing the same thing but I am no longer giving it away…, scrap money is still money.

Bad thing about all this id the shipping prices , the shipping companies are losing a lot of $ because people wont pay for it anymore ---me included .
I have a lot of 68 barracuda "stuff" that not everybody needs , but to good to throw away , some of it I don't even know what it is called ...

Scrap at $3 per 100 pounds is not even a decent price to scrap old parts.

Fortunately I have enough storage space to hold on to a fair amount.

Either someone will need what I have or scrap will go up.

Eventually.

at least you tried! The older I get, the more I value my space over spare parts. It's hard to let things go though, even though I know I have too much clutter. Trying to sell things takes up so much time, which is also becoming more scarce and valuable.

THere are more than a few people that make a "living" at pick a parts buying parts to sell off FeeBay. Most advertised there with silly prices. Somehow there will be people to pay such I guess.

I like Hurst shifters and 4 barrel carbs I tend to collect who knows if I will gain anything at resale its more of a "you need a Holley? there ya go..." in my car guy circle etc.

Ugh, I hate seeing these posts. Where I live no one has stuff like this. Once in a while there will be something that pops up but not often. Best two things I've seen in 8 years of living here was white interior with good rear panels for $800 and some virgin econo W2 heads also $800. Wasn't in the position to get either when they came around.

If you’re looking to get rid of spare parts Doug, let me know!

Times are changing.... We no longer have Dads trying to teach their sons & Daughters how to change oil, do brake jobs (even a pads replacement). I like many of you have parted out my last
old Dodge. I too would advertise on Craigslist for days on in. Got really tired of the scammers BS. It was a big surprise to me as well as the standard 10 SB Chevy parts are not listed as Once upon a time dont have
