Old Ford & Dodge parts are really scarce in my part of the world. Just a sign of the time dinosaurs..... Have a blessed week everyone. Texas Red
Let's talk about it this weekend in Farm Town!If you’re looking to get rid of spare parts Doug, let me know!
Real estate prices are insane even the cost to keep it around isn’t cheap either -60x40 barn half full- and pretty much like more than one or two of us has said even a $5 part isn’t even selling.Scrap at $3 per 100 pounds is not even a decent price to scrap old parts.
Fortunately I have enough storage space to hold on to a fair amount.
Either someone will need what I have or scrap will go up.
Eventually.
We do ….sort of…. It’s called a swap meet and it’s an added cost - gas, swap space entry - and the labor involved. I don’t mind helping out but these days it’s more like handing it out. JM2C.We need a post, by location, for "come pick through my stuff for free". Post hours and days and when it will be hauled off to the scrap.
I would dig for gold if given the chance near me.
But I do agree with most here, its becoming more of a pain vs. just taking to the scrapyard.

The problem with swap meets is no one brings everything (of course). I’d rather just come to your place with a six pack, share some beers, listen to stories, find what you don’t want but I do, and say thanks. Same team.We do ….sort of…. None for sale or free, just have my personal ones@davescuda have any junk '68-'69 Cuda valances that the dual exhaust notches are still good?
that's not true. when i roll out to swap i roll heavy and to sell ****. i take damn near the kitchen sink with me.The problem with swap meets is no one brings everything (of course). I guess I’m just a dreamer.
Maybe I go to wrong swap meets then, I buy what I need when I see it. I ask if they have parts for XX car or YY car and get 60% of the time "I didn't bring that stuff". Some guys are good and we can setup a meet and exchange later (Ivester's parts for example), but most just walk away.that's not true. when i roll out to swap i roll heavy and to sell ****. i take damn near the kitchen sink with me.
sure i sell some stuff, but you know what i get mostly? tire kickers. time wasters. nickel dicks.
the buying market is shrinking and those that are left are picky and aloof. they'll buy it repop or get it on ebay, a forum, or endlessly troll MP or CL and find that deal in 3, 4 6 months from now while the car sits, unfinished.
This. The "boomers and X'ers are dying off or doing something else. I don't care what anyone says, the young guys DO NOT WANT THESE BOOMER CARS. I work with teens every sing day. You talk about cars and their eyes glaze over. Sure, they know McLaren, BMW, Subaru, Lamborghini, etc., but alk about a classics or hot rods and they walk away. Fewer and fewer people are restoring them and more are building street machines using aftermarket parts, making the cars perform and handle better, too. Plus, it's too damn expensive to restore them. Guys selling used Mopar parts are trying to retire off of every part they sell. Its insane what they're asking for old parts. Roadkill has made clapped out or unrestored cars cool, which doesn't help the resto market, either. I truly feel that the hot rod, and automotive hobby in general, is in it Swan song. The remaining Boomers, GenX and some Millenials, and that's it. It's over. Just my opinion by talking with teens.Maybe its reached the end? no one is restoring them any more like a clean turkey carcass at Thanksgiving
We have a new Member looking for a good '67 & ^ Dr. Side frt. Frame rail, didn't You have one a while back? May be cornfuzed tho', lol......None for sale or free, just have my personal ones
yup had my 86 fox body at the track stock its a convertible Im running 15s not beating it a guy with new challenger and a laptop tuner program is running 11s etc. and he drove it there like I did mine etc. you can just lay down cash and go fast any more .Part of the problem too is a slant six car is almost all that is left.. that along with the times… makes that car platted in gold damn near. I paid 450 bucks for a 2 dr slant 69 dart in 1999… people are asking 3-5k now in the shape I bought mine in out of a field in Arkansas. Then there is how much all of the other stuff costs in 2025… that’s what is killing it all if you ask me. Younger generation can also go financed a faster car now too. Pay monthly…more aftermarket support… new parts not old….faster car….modern bits. They want to bolt things on… buy it not build it. Like this weekend I’m running in the 12.0 index class…. It’s me and an old Belvedere II against like 20 corvettes and mustangs and Camaros and hellcats. The majority of those people we are against are mid 30s and under. I’m 44 and the other guy is in his 60s.
Just remember.... the guy said " he who dies with the most toys....is the winner!"God help my wife if I die before her too….lol

Find any rural country ranchy and farmer kid and they might not get too excited about a 60s "muscle" car BUT trucks..that is a totally different story!! Especially in Texas! This.
