Salter's BBM 383 build

Ok, so let's say 375HP just to put a number on it. Which is capable of what? Low 12s in a well prepped A body? High 11s? Isn't that respectable?
It's going in a charger though, low 15s....not beating many hondas with that lol
In an a body, if it's a street car those are pretty good

318wilrun adds headers and runs 11's in his truck with the 500 hp 383.

My ex-Popo Diplomat ran almost 105mph in the 1/4 w/a 750VS Holley on a DP4B intake, 284°/.484 PurpleShaft, stock 9.2:1 slugs, template ported closed chamber '516's I added the 1.75" exh. to, & mis-matched headers....in front of a 4-gear.
The bone stock '66 2bbl engine with a RR intake & iron logs, slightly larger 440 cam, & same 750VS ran 100mph with a 125hp NOS Holeshot kit, & a best of 94mph w/o the juice. I was working on a timing retard setup to get the most from the NOS but never got the chance to use it.
Upshot is, it's easy to do the math for 105 in the qtr., I was using shitty tires & leaving in 2nd gear at the time so.....really only interested in the mph#'s.

I believe most ppl are disappointed in their builds unless they get it pro built. Often money is the deciding factor. Long time ago a friend of mine had Big Daddy build him an engine. He said he had this much cash and what he expected. Then Don told him what he would get for his money and he was disappointed. Don said speed cost money: how fast do u want to go? He gave Don another wad of cash. Kim
