is it ok to sandblast alum intakes just wanted to know

Glass beading is not as rough.....I use duct tape to cover up openings...and make DARN sure you clean it REAL good after. You don't need sand in your engine!

I use the glass beds but you need to watch the grade so you get the desired finish. The sand makes it look good but its rough. You might check out a sand blast media sight to see what media is the best for you. There are some other materials that will work great too. But as it was pointed out watch out for your gasket areas and keep inmind what gets inside when you do it has to come back out or you will have $$$$ problems. have had brand new manifolds come in and they had media still stuck in the runners. So we remove it . The first two times I called the Co. and told them and they just said Yah some times that happens. Good luck

Soda blasting it would probably work best.
