I have a 70 340 timing cover that I'm trying to sell, and the guy wanting it says that he needs a cover specific for a 360.

I was aware of the 68 only, and 67 back timing covers, but I was unaware that there was a 360 only timing cover? Does this sound right?

tell him you traded the 340 cover for a 360 cover...and that 360 covers are 20 bucks more.....maybe then he´ll take it :D:D

upto 1969 the dont have the timing cast into them. After that upto 1992(318) or 1993(360) they are all the same.

Now, he doesn't want it. Says he has a 340 cover. Doh!!

Oh well, I'll list it in the for sale section.

Actually, there were several styles. Look-up my post from a few years ago with photos of 4 different timing covers (most in my hands). However, I don't think 360 timing covers are different.

I put a LA timing cover from a 318 on my 360 Magnum. Bolted right up.

'69 was the first year to get the timing marks cast into them and they were cast on the passenger's side. Starting in '70 they were cast on the drivers side. The '68 and back has a bolt on timing mark bracket. This makes the '69 a one year only cover.

he must of got his thoughts mixed up the 340 oil pan is diff from the 360 but the timeing cover should interchange
