Is there an easy way or home remedy to remove scratches from the outside of a windshield?

If you can't find one ask your insurance agent about one close by. They are always repairing chipped windsheilds if it doesn't have cracks going out.

Check Eastwood.com they sell a couple of polishing kits. You also could try an automotive glass shop. Some of them will polish your glass for you too, or at least tell you if yours is polishable.

Best thing is to use .000 steel wool. Works WONDERS!!! I cant tell you how many windshields and fogged auto glass I have seen saved using it. The only place I can get it anymore is by ordering it online through Harbor Freight. Last time I ordered it was 11.99 for a 50 ft roll.

I dont have a single Ace or True Value within 30 miles of me anymore. Sad what the big box stores have done to the little guys around here.

Wow....000 steel wool on glass.....who'd a thought

Details?

Thanks......everyone

And toothpaste....:toothy7:

I love these ideas....

Just polish the windshield like your teeth 8)

But seriously details on the triple ot and paste?

Triple 0 works great on glass, aluminum and chrome w/o scratching. I actually learned about it when I first got into construction in my teens from an old timer window installer. Said he always went over new windows hed install with it because of factory and shipping marks. And if you use toothpaste it has to be the plain white original kind (also works good for getting stains off vinyl and linoleum flooring)

Well you know that among other things toothpaste has titanium powder in it that acts as a polish. So I just put a gob on the end of a tissue and make cute little circles.

I have used triple ot on chrome....bumpers etc.

Never thought of using it on glass....8)

So just use it the same way.....rub in circular motion?
