I was thinking of adding a second fuse box for small accessories such as a tach, lights in a 3 gauge pod, and (maybe but not likely an electric fuel pump sometime in the future). I want all of these to turn on and off with the key. What is the best way to do this. Also I noticed that the fuse box has a blank spot in it. The hot side has a spot that has a male connector where another wire can be tied in, and there is no fuse holder on the "cold" side. Would I be able to run a wire from this blank spot to a small fuse block/box for low power accessories or would that be too much current flowing through the ignition switch?

for a fuel pump i would look into a hot from the battery with a relay and inline fuse

It's always a good idea to ad an extra fuse block for aftermarket accessories, I see way too many people just tie them into the factory fuse block and all that does is over load the harness.

I ran a 10 gauge wire from the battery terminal through a 30 amp fuse and then a relay to power my extra fuse block. Then I powered the 15 amp relay switch wire from one of the switched terminals inside my factory fuse block, the factory fuse block has extra connections inside of it, some switched and some live 24/7 This way my extra fuse block is only powered when the key is on and it doesn't overload the factory wiring harness.

Like Daredevil said, the fuel pump needs to be powered from the battery and through it's own fuse and relay. This works a lot better if your battery is in the trunk. Just run a small switch wire up to the dash

Thanks, I really doubt that I will ever use an electric fuel pump, it is just a street car. Blownfish did you use a kit or did you just buy a relay and do it your self? My brother has a parts car that I was thinking of taking the factory fuse box out of it and using it as the secondary, and then I would just need a relay

Your local parts store should have universal relays in various amps, I got the ones for my fans at O'Reilly's in the electrical aisle next to the fuses.
