second shift jobs

-
i am steady days now ... kind of hate it now ... becuase i always have to take days off to accomplish things out side of work...

lol.. when i was in training for my present job about 10 years ago they had me on 7am to 3:30pm shift 5 days a week. oh man i hated it. went nuts working those hours. felt so rushed to get things done on sat and sun. i love my days off during the week. :)

swing shift for me "MAD" midnights afternoons days we swing every week and our weekend rotate back one day every three weeks. basically i only have about 6 sat and sundays off a year. :angry7:

Been working 3pm-11pm 4 on 3 off, for several years, love it. Not a morning person and I get a lot done during the week when "normal" people are working. Before that I was working 12's 6-6 both days and mids, 4 on 4 off. I was commuting from TN to FL on off days. Time off was great but 12 hr mids sux'd

I never quite understood what's up with the rotating shifts thing. It seems like your body needs to get used to working a particular shift as far as sleep patterns go......it's almost inhuman, like sleep deprivation.

When I had to work graveyard, I hated it with a passion.......I'd come home and no matter what time I slept, morning or afternoon, I was mindless! I mean, if I went to the store and bought something, I couldn't even count my change!! Others @ my work have been on graveyard for over 25 years.

I like rotating ALOT more then straight nights
we switch back and forth each rotation,,you never get used to anything..lol
this weekend im sat, sun, mon days off 2 days
thurs, fri nights
like I said before, nights and weekends are peaceful
plus Sun. is double time :)
When you work at night, you just get the mindset that after a couple nights its over...
then back to days...

I worked for an electric company in south Texas foir three years in the late 80s, 1:00 to 9:30 at night. Then I went to work for Delta Air Lines and worked 3:00 to 11:30 p.m. for the first five years, then worked midnight till 8:00 a.m. for four years before finally making it to day shift. I stayed on days until I furloughed out in 2004.

So from 1987 till 2000, all I saw was either evening or midnight shift.

I work second shift (3-11) and was wondering if any one else works the dreaded shift been on it since my sophomore year of H.S. I'm getting tired of it just thought Id vent thanks for listening

How many years??
When my wife and I were dating, we both worked 3-11, then for a few yrs after we got married
When your young you can out and party after work...sleep late....
After kids come along,,all that changes..lol

I have been working 6pm to 8am for the last 7 weeks.
OH and I'm on Salary it's called casual overtime

I would give My left Nut to be on second
