As some of you have seen, my son Josh, rolled his 73 Dart Sport into a ditch. The only panel to survive is the trunk lid. We are in the painful process of removing the interior, driveline and suspension. Josh's search for a roller has begun.
Searching for a Duster/Dart Sport, Scamp in the 1970 to 76 range, Swinger of any year. The plan is to use as much of his car as possible.
The kicker that will make this a difficult find, is he's got a budget of about 2500.

Said roller must haves: no wrecks, exterior trim, good frame rails, good roof and glass, left lower control arm, both strut rods, and mostly rust free body. Title, or other paperwork from your state that will allow us to get a Maryland title.

Said roller preferences: solid floors, rear seat. Console if it was a console car.

Do not need: motor, trans and rear, leaf springs, disc brakes. Side glass if a Duster/Sport body.

Willing to travel up to 250 miles one way from Baltimore Maryland for the right deal.

Here's hoping a unicorn exists. We did find a couple of possibles on marketplace, but they either didn't work out, or got no responses when inquiring.

I saw this post on Facebook

As cold as it is right now, I'd imagine that the ground may be frozen enough to where Mr. Grumpy pants that was so worried about his yard might let you back in to yank that Duster now...lol.

After further discussions with Mr Grumpypants, I think it's best we left it in his back yard. Turns out it was a 73 Duster he bought out of a junkyard, put a dart sport nose on it and has a 76 Dart title and vin he was going to sell with it.....

I got a 49 Dodge 5 window pilot house roller. The Hemi can easily come out.

Made a 3 hr round trip the other day to look at a 73 Swinger. Slant car, all original. Dude said "needs floors up front, but the body is really straight and thw frame is rock solid " Um, yeah.... we get there, needs both fenders, both qtrs, left rocker and the frame on both sides where the fronts meet the t bar piece were gone. Oh yeah, the right side of thw firewall was gone about 6 inches above the pinch weld where it meets the floor.

So he wasn't wrong. It was remarkably straight. Just also remarkably rusty.

A lot more body and frame that we wanna get into.

Btw - we are ok with up to an 8 hour one way trip from Baltimore MD for the right deal.
