Greetings to all,

I've known about FABO for many years and have finally decided to join. I have had my 1965 Barracuda since July of 1974. It's a commando 273 V8 with a 4 barrel and 4 speed. With the exception of the skull head door lock pulls, it's all stock.

I drove it from 1976 till 1980 when it needed suspension work, heads rebuilt, rear springs and floors welded in. I then took it off the road for 35 years. It's a 1 family car, (it was given to me by my uncle with 55K) and I am 2nd owner.

After collecting dust in the garage and toting it each time I moved, I finally mustered up the determination to get her back on the road.

I'm seeking a power steering pump and power brake booster for this vehicle. I have them mounted in the car but I'm reluctant to send them off anywhere for fear that they will not return.

If anyone has has these items to be sent as cores and/or know of a reliable reliable re builder any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and God bless!

I may be able to help with a correct PS pump and offer info one where to get one of this boosters rebuilt. I had the same setup on my 65 Dart wagon but elected to go with a later all-in-one modern Booster. I sent a 68 or so off to Power Brake Booster Exchange - commonly known as "Booster Dewey" - to be rebuilt as well as anodized as per original for that year. Yours should be black as well as your vacuum box as shown on the inner fender.

Welcome to FABO. You came to the right place. As you can see, there are already members here to help and we have a huge group of early A members here. I changed your thread to Parts wanted so you may get a bit more action. Post lots of pictures of your ride. We love to see what you're working on. toolmanmike (moderator)
I don't have a Barracuda but I do have a 66 Dart with the HP273 /4 speed combo. Fun cars for sure.

PS pump is about 6 O-rings. Booster is completely serviceable if you have the 65/66 FSM. Finding the parts may be tough but many restoration places sell kits and Bendix may have been the blanket supplier to many manufacturers. Do you still have the squarish vacuum reservoir on the fender?

Thank you toolman Mike,

I am incredulous over how quickly I've received responses from the members here. I've looked for OEM on Ebay, craigslist, and junk yards for years, only viewing aftermarket or performance pieces; at last I have finally found the proverbial "needle in the haystack". In the future I will search for my needles here at FABO. 65Buddahruda
