Here are a few pics of my valiant. SHe is in the shop getting each and every panel removed cleaned out then soda blasted then an acid dip coated and sealed before reinstalled. poor girl was so full of ash and soot. I hope to make a tip to SC to see her again soon.

Here's hoping the acid dip leaves something to work with! Looking forward to updates on this one.

She was solid and rust free before the fire and only sat for 3 weeks exposed so it shouldnt be too bad and according to the shop its looking good. they are hoping to dunk the "car" (minus skin) the middle of next week!! I should have her back to prep for paint by December!!

Not sure but I have been told that after metal is burnt it is hard to get paint to stay on it. Good luck with the project.

I heard that too but if acid dipped and soda blasted it is said to hold well. I tested it when I restored my antique garden tractor that was also in the fire. So far it has held well being outside for the last year. I am hoping it works on the car too! Its hard to see in the pics but the drivers rear quarter suffered some punctures and the passenger rear too the passenger door was crushed as well so I am replacing them. the hood weakened severely so I am replacing it as well.
