Well I’ve had the itch ever since I missed out on the green 4 speed convertible a couple months ago.

Saw this one and have been checking it out for a while. My wife said she really liked it and that she would drive it all the time. (Sounds like she wanted it too!). I preferred a 4 speed but she can’t drive manual. Big shout out to @HemiSSDart for talking about the car to me and vouching for it. Took a day trip out to North/South Carolina 1.5 weeks ago and today this thing showed up.

Super clean car, probably to nice for me, my kids and ice cream… but we will enjoy it. I’ll get more pictures when it’s not raining.

Fun story of today.
Jim put the car in the garage, of course I had a contractor over at the same time to go over a French drain. We chatted for a bit then after he left the wife came out to look at the car. I was telling her how it needed nothing, started up with ease and all the good stuff….

Then I opened the door and turned the key… No Start! Cranking and no start… car flooded, I guess choke on carb (butterfly choke?) stayed open and flooded the carb. Wife said “this isn’t very promising and disappointing… and left.”

Put my foot to the floor, cranked it and got it started but at that point she was already gone.

Kids love it and want to drive it but it’s raining. The trusses in my big shop are about to be redone and then the roof spray foamed so it will stay in the house garage for a little while.

Wow! Beautiful Car

GTS besides, with the Bulge Hood.

That's got to have the 383 in it...

Very Nice... You & the family are gonna love cruising around in that.... Do whatever it takes to get it to start every time... Every Damn Time..... Nothing else will do...

Thanks! It’s actually a 340 car though.

Probably a 340- a '68 383 GTS would have the "383 Four Barrel" callouts beneath the GTS letters on the fenders.

Oh a 383 would have been nice but those are hard to come by in a convertible. The 340 is fun, my purple car is a 340 and it’s a good motor.

Hopefully the wife lets me drive it she already is saying it is hers.

I believe I like the 340 Automatic package better anyway. Great Performance, not so heavy in the front, little more room in the engine bay.

I just noticed- you have cruise control on that!
Is it aftermarket? Doesn't quite look like the factory units I'm familiar with.

Yes it has a dealer installed cruise control unit. It hasn’t ever worked since the restoration was done but maybe one day I can find someone a **** ton smarter than me to get it working.

Should have bought the manual trans car...
Honestly, I wish I could get Coral to drive one of my cars....

She has ridden in the purple car maybe 7 or 8 times in 7 years, so if she drives this I will be delighted. Or the kids and I will just get ice cream without her lol

That is a real Chrysler servo, possibly from a dealer add-on kit...(likely from the early to mid 70's).... I don't believe there was an option for Cruise from the factory....

Coral does join me for rides quite regularly.... But both my running driving Mopars are convertibles so typically that makes getting women to go for a ride a lot easier... Plus I organize group cruises so my friends & I take the cars out as a group pretty regularly & we plan stops that appeal to the women....

Easy to get her to go for a ride?! Maybe if I put the top down on this she will put her top down for me
