hey names joe and im new to fabo, although ive been around cars since i was born. don't have anything at the moment but am hopeful, slowly saving up those nickels and dimes while i help my dad with his car whenever i can
so far over my lifetime (still in highschool but figured there was no better place to learn) we have had a 1964 corvette roadster, 38 buick special, 66 mustang gt currently 1968 camaro with a built 350 but ive always loved mopars the most, especially a bodies. in fact the other day saw a 68 hemi dart. oh and our family car is an 08 awd hemi charger
don't forget that stock smallblocks do much better milage wise than most other mopars. i'd like to save as much as i can considering the price of gas and other things these days. although i would love to have one of those superstock darts.Hi, Joe!
Welcome to the FABO site!
It's easy to like A bodies! Because....
1. They are cheap to buy, compared to B and E bodies.
2. Any Mopar engine will fit with a little massaging.
3. The very fastest factory Mopars (1968 Hemis) are A bodies.
4. They are lighter, and therefore, faster, than any other musclecar-era Mopars, with the same engine.
5. They came with, or can easily be fitted with, the great 8.75" rear end.
6. They are old enough to qualify for (cheap) "antique" license plates in many states.
7. Lots of aftermarket parts (roll bars, subframe connectors, fiberglass hoods, etc.) are available, so lightweight, but strong, race cars can easily be made using A bodies as the base car.
8. Disk brakes can easily and cheaply be fitted, using OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts off junked '73 and up, Duster, Dart Sports, etc.
9. Their light weight makes them a lot easier on drivetrain parts at the drags than the bigger, heavier B and E bodies.
10. They are just sooooo cool!
Have fun!!!
