Single "POP" when applying disc brakes

73 Dart Sport, stock fr. disc. When I brake a mild "POP" emits from the master cyl.(my guess) At first i thought it was from my steering... Im new and clueless. Thanks.
 
Have someone sit in your car and push on the brakes while you watch the brake booster and fire wall you may be having some flex there .
 
Does it do it when you step on the brake without the car moving or only out on the road?
 
A thump would come from a strut rod bushing or upper arm bushing. A pop would come from pedal pivot and push rod area or a possibly a shock absorber.
