Way back, I was going to install this 318 into my '63 Dart until I found that the firewall interferes with the installation of a V8, so I went with the Slant. I traded this engine for his worn out S6. He sent me a picture/video after installing this 318 into his '75 Duster then a video of smoking his tires. I was a little jealous.

I own 2 1406 Edelbrock carbs. Wouldn’t this be a good option for the 4bbl/header setup? 450cfm if I’m not mistaken.

A 1406 is a 600 CFM carb. I'd suggest a Holley 390, a Quick Fuel 450, or an AVS2 500. I'm running the latter and it works great in the truck.
