I am looking to use SB bell on a BB.
I am going to put Toyota 5 speed behind a fairly stock 400 bb.
Going to use a 318 bell out of a Dakota.
I need to make or buy a adapter so I can bolt it to my 400.
Thanks for your input.

Why fool around?
Use a big block bellhousing on a big block, they're not that expensive really.
Forget about making adapters.
Toyota 5 speed? When you get on it and get traction, that ***** will explode!
You better run a tranny blanket on it if you value your legs and nads.

There's a gent on the Australian Mopar Board that made up a Big to Small block adapter a couple of years ago. It's not that hard. He said:

"Hi Greg,
It is working a treat,no issues.
Biggest hurdle is having to trim the left ear off the block and modifying the headers to drop lower than the starter.
If your going for standard manifolds and a new exhaust it will not be an issue.
When i made mine i did 2 sets, sold the other to a guy for $400 but i think i may have shortchanged myself a bit.
I have another guy interested down the track for a kit so i will do a couple whenever someone else want one.
Would i do it again?Yes.

Cheers Wayne"

Of course, down under, they've got a lot of stuff we don't have:
