I wanted to tell everyone that we have worked a deal with Cragar on the 5/4.00 S/S wheels. They will be a limited production and should be ready in March. We are taking orders now. They will be available 14x6, 14x7, 15x6, 15x7 and 15x8. If we can help please give us a call 1 800 281 2819. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas........Howard

Thanks for the info Howard. Do you guys have a web site where we can have a lookie-see and get pricing? You probably won't get a lot of replies or sales this close to Xmas, but once everyone recovers from the holiday financing and the robins start to sing, you should get some good orders - me included. :)

Git us some photos, specs, and prices. I'm sure a lot of us will be interested.
Thanks for getting the ball rolling. Mike

I Know I paid $182.25 a whell (lug nuts included ) about 4 years ago..

14x 6..... SS small bolt...

The web address to check out for the small bolt Cragar SS is NEWSTALGIAWHEEL.COM it will list the sizes, pricing & backspace that will be available. They are taking orders now due to the limited run of wheels.
But are not charging until the wheels are ready.

Awesome guys on the rim help!

So I have a 64 Dart, has an 8 3/4 rear. I have it mounted on the stock pads, what size cn I fit under the car? In the old days an E-60-14 would just make it and I had the lip bent up a little for more clearnace.

I was thinking a 14x7 with a 215-60 in the rear and mabye a 14x6 with a 205-60 in front?

Or should I go with around the same size in 15"s?
Looking at a 215-60 or a 225-60 on the 15 is a little taller. And a 225 -60 is about 1/2" wider than a 215-60.

Also what about front disc brake clearnaces? What offset etc is needed?

Any input here would really help!

Specs on 14"
P195/70R14 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 24.8", Cross Section 7.9"
P205/70R14 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.4", Cross Section 8.2"
P215/60R14 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 24.2", Cross Section 8.7"
P225/60R14 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 24.7", Cross Section 9.0"

specs on 15"
P195/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 24.2", Cross Section 7.9"
P205/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 24.7", Cross Section 8.2
P215/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.2",Cross Section 8.7"
P225/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.6", Cross Section 9.0"

Kind of like this size for the height and seems rear width would be decent and should fit? It is a little taller yet the width get me a little more room.
P215/65R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 26.0", Cross Section 8.7"
On a 15x7 center offset rim?

And was thinging about this for the front end. I have front disc brakes too.

On a 14x6 center offset rim?

There is some info & pics of how things fit on my '64 Cuda on this thread. I've been trying to determine the same things you are. Your car should be similar. Hope it helps some. If you want to PM me & discuss things go ahead.

The first pic below is from 391Suregrip. It shows a 255/60 15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A on a 15 x 8 Cragar SS with 4 1/4 backspacing, mounted on an A body. The 255 tire is about 10" wide. Lots of clearance to the spring. Compare it to the second pic, one of my car. 14 x 7, 4 3/8 backspacing, F60 14. Tire was about 9 13/16" wide overall.

Thanks I see. I uded to run an E-60 14 years ago and it was OK except hard turns it would rub a little on the inner lip. With air shocks no issues, and with a lot of air can raise over tires up to about an F60 14.

I am thinking of going 15"s for more height and found these seem to be maybe the best all around bet in terms of heifgt and width.

Rear 1st choice
P215/65R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 26.0", Cross Section 8.7"on a 7” rim 15” on 4” Tread Width (in): 7.00 in.

Front 1st choice
P205/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 24.7", Cross Section 8.2 on a 6" or 7” rim 15” on 4” Tread Width (in): 6.60 in.

Rear 2nd choice
P215/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.2",Cross Section 8.7"
Tread Width (in): 7.00 in.

Front 2nd choices
P205/70R14 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.4", Cross Section 8.2" $87 6” rim 14” on 4” Tread Width (in): 6.10 in.
or
P215/70R14 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.9", Cross Section 8.7" 6” or 7” rim 14” on 4” Tread Width (in): 6.40 in.

Choices depend on combos right? I am leaning to the taller P215/65R15 26" tall for the rear still has decent width on a bigger tire, and the P215/70R14 25.9" tall or P205/70R14 25.4" tall for the fronts.

I would kind of like to get the car not to low in the front with an 8 quart oil pan.

I'm not sure how the Darts' tubs compare to the Barracuda. I think on the inside they would be the same. Outside, I don't know. My figures for my car tell me that if I go with the Cragar SS 15 x 8, 4 1/4 backspace, I could easily fit a 255/60 15. I can probably squeeze in a 275/60 15. Not sure if I can get a tire this tall (28") to clear the front of the wheelwell. I've spent a lot of time this week drawing pictures to help me visualize how the placement of the tire will be affected by the different backspacings. I'm sure the 8" wheel will allow for a much larger tire to fit on the back than the 7" wheel.

I plan to go with a 7 x 15 in front. Not sure of tire size there yet either. I think my next step is going to be to mock up some tire sizes with cardboard on some bare rims I have & see how it all looks.

I hsve 235/60r15s on my '65 Dart with 15X7 Cragar S/S wheels from Newstagia. The fit is pretty tight against the fenders but plenty of room to the springs, which are MP HD. Not sure they'd fit with with stock springs... probably rub the upper fender.

Do you know what your backspacing is?

Well that is good they fit and thanks for the info!

I think the 64 tubs are a little smaller. the 215 60 14s are tight and would rub on the lip on a hard turn. But I need to check to see the offset and back space I have on the old dish rims. I know that I have a few inches on the inside toward the spings. So maybe I have alike a 3" and the cragars in 7" width are 4".

I know that in height size (diameter) there is plenty on room probably up to a 255?

I should be able to for sure get 215/65s which are the same width as the 215/60s. I may be able to stuff 225/60s if the offset is the incl more that I think it is?

Here are again is the tire sizes. I like the height of the 215/65-15 are they are as wide as the 215/60 14s and you need to get to a 235/60 as you said for the tallness.

P215/65R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 26.0", Cross Section 8.7"
Tread Width (in): 7.00 in.
P215/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.2",Cross Section 8.7"
Tread Width (in): 7.00 in.
P225/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 25.6",Cross Section 9.0" MAYBE? 3RD used with 2ND for fronts
Tread Width (in): 7.20 in
P235/60R15 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 26.1", Cross Section 9.5" 7 OR 8” RIM
Tread Width (in): 7.60 in.

I have on car now P215/60R14 BFG T/A Radial,Overall Diameter 24.2", Cross Section 8.7" Tread Width (in): 7.00 in.

OK I did not really want to go outside cause it is -5 with -20 wind chill in WY today and no sun. But I crawled under the car, took off an old rim and did some measuring in the snow.. yuk!

Measured my current rim 3 3/8" backspace, 1 ¾” to leafs with 215-60-14”s on this rim.

So I should be able to go up to a 235/60-15 ( I think you are corect and I should get the performance leafs to pick it up some in the *** end for 235's) and a 225/60 or the 215/65 will be no issues at all.

Hey guys as far as the front end goes. With disc brakes are there issues here too? I was thinking if I go with the 15x7 or 15x6 rims with like a 205/60-15 will that be ok? Clear the calipars and not hit the control arms?

Help appreciated!

Just a note on these Cragar SS's for everyone. When you get your wheels have them checked for out of round. A year and half ago I got the last 2, 15 x 7's out of Summit and one of them was out of round (radial runout) by 3/8" and I won't go into what I had to do to get that remedied.
