On my wagon the SO Number is stamped on the radiator support - no surprise there.

It does match my fender tag which reads
71906243 less the “55” which Ulf @65dartcharger indicates the year.

The same number is stamped in a panel below the tailgate on the left side. Ulf said the SO Number is stamped on the convertible back seat crossmember on his 65 DartCharger convertible. Anyone else find a 2nd SO Number On their early A or was this a CA-built deal?

Nothing special about this, not sure when they started stamping numbers on the cars but all cars have two numbers (all plants, all makes all models), in 65 through 68 it will be the SO number, starting in 69 the VIN (portion of it).

"And on that note" we had an interesting situation crop up on here some time ago. Guy had bought a 68 Dart body but NO DASH FRAME. Guess what? Dash VIN is the ONLY VIN in 68 and of course "not part of the car" so to speak.

IF you have a broadcast sheet you can match the VIN and SON. There are many cars out there that had this issue...

Yeh well "he didn't." It was a rolling body as I recall. Also, I don't have the sheet for my 67 anymore, it just simply disintegrated first time I removed the rear seat. I really don't have an issue with that. I do have the certicard, "someplace"
