How come some brands of soild lifters are one piece and other brands the lifter looks like a HYD lifter ?

Only reason I can think is some are designed to oil through the pushrods like a AMC or Magnum engine requires. I've got EQ magnum style heads on my 408 and had to use the type you show in the 2nd pic that oil the rocker arms through the pushrods.
 
For most it's ease of production and less part numbers to manage. A positive side affect is the "modular" ones (with the pushrod cup higher and a hollow area under it) are a lot lighter without affecting oil pressure. It also means a shorter, lighter pushrod, and more angularity issues that take away a little lift.
