Saw an ad on craigslist about a free d50. Called the guy and found out where it was. Went over there and looked at it. He said it had no paper work. I let him know I wasn't really worried about that. It is a 85 4x4 with a 5 speed. The reason I wanted it was for my daughter, hers needs a new tranny. Told the guy I would take it, but it would be a couple of days before I could get there with the trailer. He said no problem, it would give him time to clean it out. Called him tonight to let him know I Would be over tomorrow to get it. He told me he gave it to someone last night. what a jerk.

Lesson learned..... If you really want it---never let it leave your sight....

If his word was no good
the trucks trans was probably no good ether :cussing:

That had to be some bad news dartcuda. :salute:

God point there Mike. Yeah, it would of saved me a lot of work, now I still have to take her tranny apart and change 2nd gear.

he probally figured you were never coming back.

Agreed, I'm sure all of us had at least one person that said they would be back but never came back.

That seems typical of craigslist-I swear theres more flakes on their than anywhere else-and thats both buyers and sellers, but I am willing to put up with it for some of the deals to be had. :headbang:

That always sucks to get ripped like that. I called a guy back in Jan. about some parts he had advetised. Told him I wanted them, got his address and told him it would be Saturday before I could get up there. Asked him if he wanted me to bring a deposit, ...nope not necessary. This was a Tuesday, called saturday morning after making arrangements to borrow a pickup, "sorry pal, sold the parts last night". I was ready to pay him a visit anyway !

i bet that thing was hot and he was hurting to get it away from him

I had thought the same thing to. But I guess I don't need to worry about that any more. It just pains me that a persons word is not good any more.
