In my effort to keep my original rear view mirror I want to check to see if anyone knows of a company/manufacturer that reproduces just the glass mirror piece? Everything else cleaned up really well, but the mirror surface is a mess. Anyone had luck finding just the glass?

Door mirror? Buco Redi-cuts. I installed them back in the 80's...
Regular mirror glass is illegal. Too much reflection.

Thanks, I'm actually looking for the interior overhead rear view mirror piece. Hoping someone makes just the mirror.

What year?

I looked into replacing the mirror in the rearview on my 67. the mirror frame is aluminum and crimped around the glass. I figured I could sacrifice one mirror frame by cutting it off the glass and then brake out the bad mirror and de-crimp the frame.

I also took apart a later mirror that has the rubber around the glass and they are never going to come out and back in, in one piece the rubber is molded onto the glass. good luck to you.

In the off chance you can get the glass out, mirrors can be re silvered

Hunt swap-meets. I saved mirrors, for years. Lots of parts cars, and junkyard finds. It resulted in mint condition mirrors in all my cars.

Thanks, I did manage to carefully extract the mirror front the 74 Duster mirror (the type surrounded by the rubber casing), but it has a chip in one corner. Good idea on the re-silvering of the mirror if I can find another one.
