I just noticed a cruise-in to benefit the Shrinners Childrens Hospital planned for this Saturday in Pelzer. http://www.hejazcountryboys.org/carshow.html
There are news reports lately about the possible closing of 5 of those hospitals including our local facility in Greenville. I dont think a final decision has been made yet.
I'm sure everyone is sadened to hear of childrens hospitals being closed, regardless of the location.
Can we make a difference in our location ? Probably not. Health care is sooo darn expensive.
I'm going to attend their event and make a larger donation than I can afford really and if this hospital does close, maybe my donation will help make relocating easier for the children and their families.
No challenge to you guys is presented here, I just ask you to consider a donation even if you can't attend Saturdays event.
p.s. this is/was post #4000 for me . I think it was well spent :)

Well crap I didn't know anything about it!

Where in Pelzer? It shouldn't be hard to find. LOL!

I have to be at a wedding at 6:pM in Iva, SC on Sat but I can leave the car show, make it home, and be at the wedding.
 
Hwy 20 out of Greenville goes through Piedmont and intersects hwy 8 in Pelzer.
There is a Bi-Lo, etc.. at that crossing.
There was a bent can type grocery store called Bargins 1/2 mile or so down Hwy 20 from the light. Thats where they are gathering.
I"m not sure whats the best route for you.

I'll spread the news
His car brought a 3rd place trophy away from that Shrinners show-n-shine Saturday.
To truely appreciate the honor bestowed upon his 67 Barracuda you need first to have seen the variety of Camaros present, along with Mustangs, etc..
Hat's off to my friend and neighbor mullinax95 and lets hope this is the first of many recognitions as he represents !

I couldn't believe it at first but it didn't take long for me to grab that trophy! That's the first trophy I have ever won with any car I've had. I had a 68 Charger that never netted one.... must be doing something right.

I've had a problem arise yesterday coming from the show .... something to do with the fuel. Any advise will be appreciated.

I took my cuda to it's first car show ever and won best of show the same day you got yours, and the scary part is that your trophy is green and mine is red and they are both very similar.
Is it fate?

Man I wish these car could breed.

Wow! That IS strange!

I noticed my trophy the other night... it's green. Didn't think much of it until NOW! LOL!

There is one in Anderson at 10am to 3pm on Apirl 18th.

1st Annual Montessori School Cruise-in with paved parking and shade trees.

I'm going to try to make it.
 
I was thinking about Pickens Azalea Fesival this saturday. I tihink it is 12 till 4 or 5.

Their county jail is far too easy to get into. You dont want your car towed by some of their impound people either.
I wont name names or type out the stories I've heard or my personal experience with them. I still go into Pickens when I dont have a choise.
I'll walk before I drive anything I care about. enough said

So doing a burnout, flipping the bird :thebirdm:, and yelling "F-- the Pickens cops!" down Main St wouldn't be a good idea?
 
Hey SC guys. The Colleton County High School Band of Blue is having our annual fun run (we're not allowed to say poker run anymore) & cruise in this Saturday, the 18th. Have two seperate routes, one for bikes, one for classic cars. Serving chicken dinner after the run. Plenty of door prizes and silent auction items. The run will end with a police escorted ride to cruise in to the Veteran' Victory House, local VA nursing home. Registration is at Colleton County High School at 9:30am. Those of you close enough should come join us. I hope to see some of ya there. The attached pic will be one of the silent auction pieces (my contribution).

Yeah I'm still here. I've got to hurry up and get my car aligned from last years front end rebuild. I just can't seem to find the time to get it done working and side projects that I am doing. :angry7:
 
you are right there are a lot of chevies around here about the best place to go to see any a-bodies is greer drag way on a sat.
